Demand of Seamless Steel Tubes is increasing day by day and users require the material at very short notice. It becomes difficult to meet customer's demand when one has no control over raw material. With a view to deliver quality products to our valued clients within the committed delivery period, it was essential to reduce dependency on raw material suppliers. The best alternative available was to have inhouse facility to manufacture raw material i.e. seamless hollow pipes.
To produce high quality seamless hollows economically, hot piercing technology was selected which is acknowledged the most efficient and cost effective to produce seamless hollows.
We have installed Tow-Roll Piercing Mill having annual capacity of 7200 MT that is the most popular and economical method to produce Hot Finished Seamless Hollows. High quality round billets procured from reputed mills are subjected to thorough quality checks followed by cutting to required lengths. Billets are then uniformly heated to requisite temperature in walking hearth furnace. Red hot billets are then pierced through piercing mill using precision tooling to get defect free seamless hollows.
Seamless hollows so produced are then de-scaled after cutting the ends. These hollows are further subjected to cold pilgering / cold drawing. |
